PREREQUISITE TO STARTING THE PLAN:
1. Ability to Swim 1600 meters

2. Ability to Bike 40 km

3. Ability to Run 8 km

 

THE NON-COMPETITIVE TRIATHLON MAINTENANCE PLAN

 The Non-Competitive Triathlon Maintenance Plan is a fitness plan that is ideal for athletes who have some experience in triathlon racing in the past season, but have no intentions of racing for the remainder of the season.  Alternatively, it is also suitable for anyone who meets the minimum prerequisite to use this plan for fitness. The training plan is a 3 week repeatable cycle which you can use to maintain your triathlon fitness in a structured schedule without the burden of working towards a race.  Most athletes who do not have the time to train nor have any desire to do a triathlon race but would like to maintain their triathlon-fitness levels would benefit the most from this training plan. Most sessions are between 1 to 2 hours per day. 

 

TRAINING PLAN FEATURES

Swim workouts are between 1600 and 2500 meters.

Bike workouts are approximately 1 hour on stationary bikes and upward of 90 minutes outdoors (40 - 70 km).

Run workouts are a mix of 60 min. treadmill routines and outdoor runs (5 to 13 km).

Swim Tear Sheets are available at the end of the training plan.  These sheets can be printed and folded into a clear sandwich bag and brought to the pool.  Similarly, treadmill tear sheets are also available.
